Side Hustle as the name implies is a platform where you learn any skill, especially the ones required in the labor market these days.


The world is no longer what it used to be as technology has become the order of the day. From the lowest tier of the labor industry to the uppermost ranking, all now make use of technology to perform their works. Gone are those days when you needed to be in an office to carry out your job, nowadays you don't need to be present in your company's office to perform your work/duty.


A case study of an employee "A" who lives in Kwara, Nigeria, has been offered a job at company "C" as a content creator in Lagos, Nigeria via the internet. A doesn't necessarily have to be in C's location to perform his/her duty, he/she can start work in earnest with the aid of technology and digital skill knowledge, but without digital skill, A will either have to reject the offer or decide to move to Lagos, Nigeria which will cause some discomfort, but with the aid of technology, A can work from the comfort of his home and go to C's location only if the need be.


To increase the number of people with digital skills, side hustle decided to launch an internship program, which has been going on for quite some years back now. This intern program has produced a lot of digitally skilled people in Africa, this has helped reduce the underemployment war being fought in the continent.


Without digital skill acquisition or possession, a graduate in this century is considered unqualified or rather incompetent even after spending four (4)+ years in a higher institution.


The Side Hustle internship program is currently running her third version, which will be coming to an end by the end of this week. This internship program offers training in various aspects of digitally inclined skills, skills like content creation, web design and development, product management, graphics design, mobile application development, customer service, video animation, microsoft office, digital marketing, and UI/UX. The most amazing part of this internship is its accessibility to all who wish to learn because it's FREE! 


A determined intern, participating in this program at the end of the four (4) weeks of training will come out well equipped to face the labor market with his/her knowledge which has been impacted by mentors who are experts in their various fields of digital skills.


Side Hustle will not only teach you how and what to do but will also teach you various hacks to becoming the best in your field.


As an intern in this current ongoing internship, I've gained a lot from the content creation 3.0 class. 


My success story stemming from Side Hustle internship 3.0 goes as follows in a summary, I enrolled for the class as a referral in early June. Class began on the 21st of June, 2021 on the telegram app. The task was dished out for the first week and it was looking tedious to me. I was thinking, how will I write a book? I've never written a book before, but with the introduction and motivational speech, I got the book started. Many tasks were given to interns, although I wasn't among those topping the class in my category, I never gave up. Fast forward to four weeks: which is now, my first book has been finished, and not only that, I've landed my first gig on the Upwork website (which was introduced to interns by our mentor Temiloluwa A. Abiola) after ten days of the account creation, the most amazing part is I'm verified, and with the verification badge on my profile, my employment opportunity on Upwork has been tagged easier. 


During this internship program, I've learned to use canva to create a carousel and I received a certificate from Jobberman NG.


The long and short of this story is to enlighten you to learn a digital skill because that's what drives the world now.

  • ~24.5 min Trubel had been lingering outside the nondescript metal door for nearly two hours, appearing to study the door and the faded sign above it. The Deli , it read in dusty script.
